Foxes Feathers and Fantasy

mulberrycampaign2

Tim Walker shoots Mulberry’s Fall 2011 Campaign featuring Tati Cotliar and Julia Saner. Tim Walker has been a HUGE influence on my own personal aesthetic. Or I suppose I should say his photographs are images I see when I’m daydreaming.  They’re like a phantasmagoria of lost thoughts or lost people and souls. Thoughts that you dream and then lose after being abruptly woken up or caught daydreaming by your teacher while in science class. Not only that but if you look through Tim Walkers photos he always seems to squeeze these insane worlds and characters into a little itty bitty space. And they always seem to fit. Like the mind and its thoughts and imagination. There is also a feeling of warmth in his photos that you can’t quite fully grasp.

The Mulberry Fall 2011 Campaign is not Tim Walkers greatest work in my opinion but it is still great! I mean after all it is a campaign and he’s suppose to be selling the clothes no? I just though the scale of all the props were absolutely perfect. Everything was oversized. The huge cutouts of a fox head or an owl and a humming bird. Or the large cracked pastel blue colored eggs.  OH and the feathers. The colors of the whole atmosphere Tim Walker and Shona Heath had designed complemented the Mulberry pieces quite nicely. BUT, what I really tripped out about was the video. I’m just loving this whole height of campaign films or fashion films. It really brings everything to the next level.
