Skate Couture

I’ve seen them floating around the web for quite sometime now thinking they were fake and were created on photoshop or something tech savvy like that. BUT NO! They’re real. The custom made collection of Hermès inspired Vans slip-ons are completely 100% real, although we’d only dream to own a pair because they are way out of our reach. But nonetheless they do exist and are still pretty cool. Having Parisian silk scarves and grubby slip on sneakers in one closet seems quite unlikely, and as for combining the two in one outfit, absurd and impossible no? Apparently not.

Custom Vans - Vintage Hermes Scarves

The facts are these: One Robert Verdi, a very stylish stylist who has styled an abundant amount of people and has designers on speed-dial has been pushing boundaries in the fashion industry for 15 years. Already having an emporium-worthy collection of shoes, a very unsatisfied Mr. Verdi called in for a custom creation of Vans. Then throwing his Hermès scarves into their faces for inspiration. His concept: Opposites Attract.
Merging American skate culture and Parisian high couture, Robert Verdi has created one of fashions greatest hybrids, and leaving us at home drooling onto our keyboards.
So please Hermès, pick up the phone and call Vans to mass produce these bad boys. For we want Parisian chic slip- ons too,s’il vous plait?
