Fashion senses were tingling

I gasped at the sight of Emilio Pucci’s Resort 2012 collection. What I adore about resort collections is that they are so much fun. Being a designer that shows at fashion week twice a year there really isn’t any room for vacations. When they finish Pre-fall designs they go onto Fall, and then Spring and then Resort. And throughout all this new resort and pre-fall shenanigans these designers are still working on Fall and Spring collections. Its a circle. That just keeps moving and never really stops. Crazy huh? The industry is divided into two major seasons: Spring/summer and Fall/winter. You’re probably wondering “Well shoot, what the heck is up with Pre Fall and Resort?” They are now what the industry calls ‘seasonlet’  Pre-Fall was created for designers to make a little extra bank as Spring collections begin to fade. Pre-Fall and Resort are smaller scaled, and more mainstream. No fancy runways or reserved weeks for these two ‘seasons’ Its simply a commercial scheme.
OKAY. NOW THAT I’VE GIVEN YALL A FASHION LESSON, lets continue talking about why I love resort so much. Again, designers don’t have time to vacation and lounge around the pool during the summer. They have clothes the create! But I do believe they vacation subconsciously through their creation of Resort wear. Ya’ll catch my drift?
Anyways, this is Emilio Pucci’s Resort 2012 collection. I thought it was kinda of funny how just yesterday I finished a painting I’ve been working on with almost the exact colors used in this collection. And today they released the photos to this collection. The colors are so impeccably close its a bit creepy. Not only that but they share the same vibe. Innocent but mischievous was what I was going for in my painting. And its quite obvious Peter from Emilio Pucci was feelin’ that too as he went for soft tones and the Mick Jagger boyish suits.

Sometimes I’m psychic for color schemes and fashion concepts. Its a gift.
