Spring 2011 RTW
Balenciaga's Spring 2011 collection has gotten me obsessed with the concept of "boyish individuality" It was all a very sophisticated take on "indie punk". This collection exemplified a morsel of raw street kids who were in fact dressing up for a job interview. Which seems quite complex and confusing, actually. Although when you really think about it, its not so much nonsense. With electric blue threads, biker vests, sequenced dresses and thick soled mens shoes, Balenciaga's mash up of prints and detailed neon glue gum squiggles, was in fact quite simple and brilliant.
